Dr. Gabriela Guibourg is an economist with 20 years of work experience at the Swedish Central Bank, Riksbanken, in both monetary policy analysis and payment market issues. The first 10 years she worked at the Financial Stability Department. There she contributed to the development of an oversight methodology and a framework for analysis for the payment market. From 2007 she switched to the Monetary Policy Department there she became head of Applied Research with focus on macroeconomic analysis relevant to the monetary policy decisions. There she helped to develop the report on the evaluation of monetary policy that Riksbanken annually presents to the Parliament’s Committee on Finance. During the last year, she switched back to the analysis of payment market issues. She became head of Policy Analysis in the Department for Payments. In that capacity, she chaired the Payments Committee at Riksbanken and participated in the steering committee of the e-krona project. This project analyses the possible issuance of a central bank digital currency by Riksbanken and the likely implications of doing so on the payment market, financial stability and monetary policy.
